RETOUCH NEXUS

REsilienT water gOvernance Under climate CHange within the WEFE NEXUS

The RETOUCH NEXUS project is dedicated to tackling the growing challenge of water scarcity by promoting an integrated Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus approach that supports the EU water economy and relies on ecological and social considerations.

GeneBEcon

Capturing the potential of Gene editing for a sustainable BioEconomy

In GeneBEcon, we are researching and innovating using New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) to provide farmers and biobased industries with climate-friendly and improved agricultural and aquaculture solutions. GeneBEcon’s results aim to support the European Green Deal, the circular economy action plan, and the bioeconomy strategy. We will use our project’s results to inform scientists, policymakers, plant breeders, farmers, industry and consumers. Funding: European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme

NextGenBioPest

Next Generation Biopesticides for the control of the most “difficult-to-manage” pests and pathogens in fruits and vegetables

The objective of the NextGenBioPest project is to deliver novel and improved products, methods, and practices for the rational control of the most difficult-to-manage arthropod pests and pathogens, with substantially reduced pesticide use. The project will provide a new toolkit for plant protection in key vegetable and fruit crops including diagnostics for pest and pathogen identification and incrimination, novel Biological Control Agents and methods to augment their performance in the field, RNA-based pesticides, Low Risk/Green chemicals, plant resistance inducers and innovative agronomic and ecological practices. FOODAGRI

Food security and sustainability of agricultural production: the role of institutions and policies

The objective of FOODAGRI is to develop theoretical models and quantitatively evaluate the recent development of food security and agricultural environmental indicators with focus on the effects of COVID-19 and the Russian war in Ukraine. Project covers effects of climate change mitigation and adaptation policies, specifically in the EU and Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries.

NextGeneBEcon_SK

New genomic techniques (NGT) in agriculture: social acceptance, economic impacts and decision-making processes

The objective of NextGeneBEcon_SK is to evaluate the economic impacts of new genomic techniques (NGT) on agriculture in Slovakia, European Union. Project also focuses on obstacles and risks to the development of new biotechnologies in the EU and Slovakia.

Biomonitor_SK

Evaluating the development of the bioeconomy in Slovakia: building statistical databases and models

The objective of Biomonitor_SK is to create a database and develop indicators to assess the development of the bioeconomy in Slovakia and to estimate the impact of external factors on key aspects of the bioeconomy. Expanding knowledge in the field of bioeconomy in Slovakia is important for policymakers, sectors supplying primary biological materials, and other sectors within the bioeconomy.
